I AM...Au Naturale is a short documentary which explores the history of black hair and teaches African-American women (as well as others) that black hair is beautiful.
This film takes a deeper look into an aspect of black culture that is rarely explored: black hair. For years, African American women have been told that their natural hair is unattractive saying that it is “nappy” and thus they perm, press, and put weaves in/on their hair. Let’s change the conversation. Black hair is beautiful and this will explain why.
