These are works from a studio called ‘Gravure’ during the exchange semester at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Paris. Here, I have explored the different types of printing techniques like the Monotyping, Wood engraving, Etching or the Intaglio printing.
Monotype printmaking is the technique of drawing or painting using a special ink on a smooth surface like a metal sheet. The image is then transferred on paper by pressing the two together using a printing press.

Wood Engraving is the printmaking technique in which the image is carved in the wood block. It is then printed using relatively low pressure. It is like relief printing. The black and white contrast is more evident here.

Etching is the printing technique wherein a strong acid is used to erode the unprotected parts of the copper plate to create a design in Intaglio in the metal.
