Under the constraint of using 10 grams of sterling casting grain, this ring is meant to highlight the process of making with unique tactile forms.  In  an attempt to reduce the loss of material in sanding and cuting as well as prevent the addition of material through soldering, the ring is composed of a hand forged sterling ingot and 5 remaining pieces of casting grain, which are laser welded and later fused to the ring shank before white baking.

The piece later inspired a short run of production rings, which focus on a more tactile wearing experience that highlights the characteristics of sterling.
