This is an exercise of drawing in which I made one drawing per day during one month. These
drawings have the intention to make a calendar in which the main element is the image: a
drawing representing a day of the month: from August to September.
Personally, this is an exercise of visual perception: making drawings implies a determinate
time and effort contrasting with taking photographs using a cell phone or a digital camera
with which you can always erase the image, take it again, correct it or correct the errors of it.
I do not underestimate photography; I simply consider drawing as an activity that requires a
higher degree of observation.
I think that drawing is an activity that could help us to find other essence and other forms
to see the images; it is like a tool to build other kinds of viewers. For me is also a challenge
to make an image every day without the possibility of reproducing it instantly.
Drawing is a slow process of production and consumption, and could be a good option to
develop our own sensibility in a context where many things are every time faster and
One photograph can be quickly seen and recognized, because it has a direct relationship with
real objects, but the language of drawing requires a different code of interpretation, When
we are faced with a drawing we have to make a different reading to which we use to read
In these drawings I am trying to express a particular point of view about the images around
of me emphasizing the lines and shapes to show the fragility of the drawings.
