As part of the graphic team for the 2014 Design Lab exhibition at the University of Sydney, I was tasked with designing a postcard, catalogue and invitation for the event.
Invitation
Our decided motif was clean, angles and geometric shapes together with a colour scheme of turquoise, ultramarine and the colours between.
Considering factors such as our how the card would look whether closed or opened, as well as the information needed to be presented, and where on the card it should appear, I designed the card with a unique form which matches our aesthetic while still being intuitively an invitation card.
Catalogue
The catalogue as a whole was a much heavier task, and so it was a collaboration of several of our efforts. However, the cover designs were done by myself.
Following on with our decided theme, I designed a pattern which I could then apply to the catalogue in several variations of positioning. We opted for the bottom right variation (pattern on the left).

Postcard
Finishing off with the postcard, it was decided that we use the same pattern as the book cover to make it easily recognisable to potential attendees. Most of the work regarding content had already been done during the invitation card stage, and the pattern during the catalogue design, so this was a relatively simple task of putting it together in a visually pleasing way.
I had room on the back to add something unique to the postcard so I included a sneak peak of the sort of things that were going to be on display during our exhibition; creative and interactive robots.
Renderings
To better demonstrate how my designs would look in the real world, not just a 2D image on a computer screen, I created a 3D rendered scene with the three together.
