Using an event happening in America today, I was to interpret the U.S flag in a creative way. During the time that I created this, the controversy surrounding Miss America and the accusations that just because she wasn't of white skin, she wasn't an American and I wanted to bring that issue to light in this illustration.

This illustration was hand drawn using multiple source images. After the shading was finished on the sketch, it was scanned and brought into Illustrator where I then traced the sketch lines and added color.
