Through interviews with a La Casa staff member/director, we were moved address the challenge presented by the organization -- to decrease classist stigmas and misconceptions about domestic violence, and increase awareness of the issue generally among new demographics — by tackling another huge challenge brought up to us in an interview: That many affected by domestic violence are unable to access the services they need because of very real fear that violent partners will retaliate attempts to contact the hotline.

It was an absolute honour getting to participate in this hackathon. Huge thank you to GSP for hosting and organizing, the incredible nonprofits for all their work generally and in preparing briefs/supporting the teams/learning at the event, and all the other sponsors for the opportunity! And I absolutely loved working with Allan Steiner and Anisa Ali, a skilled market researcher/strategist and nonprofit/women's issues pro, respectively.
