This hoop skirt was made using a regular belt, metal wire, chicken wire, duct tape, and cotton cloth. It was to serve as a supporting piece for the actual wedding dress composed of organza, tulle, and satin.
First part of building the hoop skirt. Chicken wire tied to the belt and sharp ends secured using duct tape.
Second phase. Chicken wire "flower petals" with supportive chicken wire "carrots" fastened into skirt base.
Again, sharp chicken wire ends taped secure.
Entire hoop skirt covered with cotton cloth sewn into chicken wire.
I later came to notice that the actual wedding dress design apparently drew inspiration from the hoop skirt. The original idea was close to this one, but not quite.
