Creativity is a vital skill in the 21st century. Creo is an educational board game that promotes the practice of creative thinking in upper-primary school students. It is a fun and engaging game that assists teachers in providing a well-rounded creative education to their students.
Based on the Critical and Creative Thinking general outcomes of the Australian National Curriculum, Creo's gameplay revolves around completing challenges which are split up into categories associated with different thinking processes; inquiry, generation, reflection and analysis, the key elements of the curriculum's outcomes.
A lot of time was spent in classrooms talking to teachers, observing lessons and interacting with the students to help properly inform the problem and fine tune the solution through play tests and teacher/student feedback.
The game ‘board’ is actually a fabric mat. It is more durable and easier to clean than regular cardboard game boards.
Teachers tend to collect many maretials over the years and storaging these mateials in classrooms can sometimes be difficult. The game is specifically designed to easily roll up to fit in a neat slim box, taking up less space than regular board games, making it easy to cary and store.
