Commissioned by Xchanging Technologies, I travelled to Malaysia to direct, shoot (and later edit) a film about the way schools and students across the country are embracing a new Virtual Learning Environment (VLE); an initiative by the Ministry of Education (MoE) in partnership with Xchanging Malaysia and YTL Communications. Malaysia is the first country in the world to have a single, nationwide cloud-based learning platform delivered via high-speed 4G internet connectivity. And so far, this VLE has successfully connected a total of 5.5 million students, 500,000 teachers, 10,000 schools and 4.5 million parents.
