Jukebox Joint is a prototype app made during the Spotify Diversify weekend, 22–23 November 2014, for which I created the design. The problem on which we based our idea is the nuisance on almost every home party, where one person constantly keeps changing songs without respect for the queue. We therefore created Jukebox Joint – a Spotify-based application where party guests themselves can add and vote for songs (swiping, in a tinder-style manner) in the playlist currently playing, in order to determine the play queue. Or, as the in-app text states:

"Jukebox Joint is not an app. It’s not a simple tool – nor a fun “gadget”. It’s definitely not a game. It a party saver. An unsung hero. Jukebox Joint is the Batman of party utilities.

Jukebox Joint will be for your party what a bag of chili cheese is for your saturday night at three o’clock. Jukebox Joint is a cure to the jerk who always plays his songs without respecting the queue. Jukebox Joint will probably even save your life"

Jukebox Joint was programmed by: SHAHIN ZARRABI, EMMA HESSEBORN-FAGERHOLM, SOFIE THORSEN
Tinder-style swipes to like/dislike songs.
