A Typographic Journey in East London
Pieces of Dalston looks at what makes Dalston, Dalston. The raw, the rough, the normal. This was a book project, which I decided tocreate as single slabs, like pavements. Essentially, this book can be seenalmost like a puzzle, because to me, that’s what Dalston is; a puzzle ofcomplexity and mixed cultures. There are two sides to each slap; one side iscolourless, greys and grim-ish, while the other side is coloured, bold andbusy. One side is orderly-ish, the other side isn't. Just like Dalston, organisedchaos.
