I was commissioned by The Guardian to create a series of maps for their 'Visit California' promotion. The maps appear as part of the Dream Generator site.

 

The maps show an overview of California and three individual cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles and San Diego). They were then developed to be interactive, allowing visitors to click on location markers for more information about attractions in the sidebar.

 

I created the illustrations as vectors to enable infinite zooming. My aim was to keep the maps clean, graphic and legible, while maintaining a vintage feel.
