When I made this work I had been haunted by a series of powerful dreams. In them, I found myself in a frantic search for for a lover that was always out of reach, or in a frenzied escape from someone or something. There were feelings of being hopelessly lost, confused, panicked. I wanted to explore and attempt to capture these themes in my work, especially because these images and scenes had been a very real presence after I was awake, often pulling me into a kind of un-reality. Technically, I experimented with extremely soft focus and adding film grain to digital images. I would like to explore this work further using film, the photographic medium I am most drawn to.
