The Lucania Warrior Part I & II
The focus for this Character was to reference my own illustrated design and to model, texture, light and render that character in ZBrush. This character was used as an exploration of texturing differences between zbrush and Maya. I also experimented with different types of armor and metal differences.

This section of this project shows the progression and development of working on the skin textures and metal textures for this character. I was not satisfied with texturing and rendering results from the previous project and so this stage was develop those assets further. I have not finished the full body, but have made much progress from the original version of this character which in part I was modeled textured and rendered in ZBrush. I then brought this character into maya where I painted the textures in Mari and then worked on the skin shader in mental ray in maya.
The ideology for this creature developed as an adaptation from the Stag Beetle. Known as the Stag Warrior, his species falls into a role fitting civilization based on skill sets. Because of his large frame he was designated to be a warrior. Trained to be Very dedicated to their craft, the Stag Warriors duty is to protect his kind. Their Armor is designed by those whose job/role in their society is to design weapons and armor. The weapons and armor are individually made, no tools to mass produce. The use of leather is gathered from animals that occupy the forests. Personality wise, the Stag Warrior is aggressive only until provoked. The warriors in this civilization tend to be very large creatures ranging between 7 and 10 feet tall. As a species they can live over 100 years. They live in caves dug in the mountains near resources such as water and forests. Their food supply consists from the sap from the trees in the forest. The Resources are gathered from within the mountain and forests.
