It's funny, some children instinctively know what they will do when they grow up, whether it be a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, an actor or in my case..and artist. Whether I've grown up is open to debate but I always knew I would be a painter and I am, I just love to paint. My passion is portraiture and Fashion but I have had to follow whatever work is required whether that be character work for Hallmark and disney or floral or traditional painting. Here are a few pieces i am especially proud of. To find out more follow my profiles on Facebook or Linked in.. I'm always happy to say 'Hi'. Matt

A Life of Art
A Life of Art
William Tai by Matthew Jeanes. This piece was a commission and was a subject I wasn't too familiar with, It was a large piece painted in Watercolour and since it's success, I will attempte other pieces slightly 'out of the box'.
I LOVE the fashion looks of classic artist's like Rene'Grau, Bob Peak, Rob Mcguinnes and David Downton working as MAXWELL I had the opprotunity to develop my own look and encourage my passion for fashion
SUNFLOWER YELLOW
A new piece painted in watercolours and one of which I am extremely pleased, I love sunflowers and feel they brighten the day, hopefully my painting 'brightens' someones day too.
I also work under the name of MAXWELL: Nom Du Jour, The work under this guise is much more 'fashion' led,. this portrait was done under this banner, It's a piece I was especially pleased with. Barbra Streisand is such an enigmatic and interestingly beautiful woman.
This was a 50'd fashion piece commissioned as an ad. It was based on a vintage photograph from the time. I loved bleeding the colour and creating a more fluid look and such and iconic period in fashion
This piece was entered into The Artist's and Illustrator's Artist of the year competition in 2012, I was extremely proud to have been shortlisted in the Still Life category out of an overall 4,000 entries. Top 5 in it's category was great! It is a window in my friends kitchen in Spain, I loved the light.
This was another fashion piece painted under my 'Maxwell' persona. with Maxwell I try to work to a minimum, using the negative space, this was a piece I was particularly proud of.
Another great Hollywood icon to add to my collection
