From parked cars to parked bicycles
We were delighted to be commissioned by DOT NYC to design another new bicycle parking solution for the city as part of the continued effort by the Department of Transport (DOT) to make New York City a more friendly environment for cyclists. The commission was made due to the success of our Hoop Rack design and our proven ability to deliver for urban constraints.

The Wrap rack transforms existing and unused parking meter posts into functional parking spaces for bicycles.

We set out to create a design that spoke the same design language as our existing NYC Hoop rack design. In keeping a consistent design expression we help cyclists to quickly identify with the design and its function.

The development of the design went through a period of prototype testing and analysis with different design variations being measured up for strength, production cost and ease of installation

Material & Process: Sandcast and galvanised ductile iron.
