Nilpeter (world-leading global printing press manufacture) were introducing their new FG Line (Flexo Global) printing press at the 2008 Chicago Label Expo.

I project managed the creation and execution of this promotional art that was printed by Nilpeter during the 2008 Chicago LabelExpo.

Helping service Nilpeter with graphic design and prepress services enabled exposure to new business. The printed designs and prepress marketing materials were handed out during the exhibit.

I began this project by administering a print qualification press run for the new narrow web Nilpeter FB 3300 press.This meant utilizing color management practices, creating the fingerprint and characterization test files, and capturing spectrophotometer data readings.

An ICC profile was created for the reproduction of press characteristics then utilized with an Epson digital inkjet printer and GMG rip software. This art was generated as four-color process and included two white inks.

Nilpeter wanted something that displayed water, fish, sharks, and coral. A production art staff was very helpful in searching for the final images. Graphic elements were supplied by www.yunphoto.net.

I felt that the selected images provided the customer with their needs. I merged these selected images to create the look I wanted within Photoshop. Predetermining the press characteristics allowed for a predictable and achievable Epson color contact proof approval.

This image shows masked butterfly fish being added to the foreground, bubbles were brought to the foreground as well. The art layout was complete with two added white separations.

There were six production plates producing printing materials. Then wrapped around a bottle or cylinder to achieve the 3D look on the printed piece. The inside of this tri fold brochure handout shows the design and prepress services provided.
