Northbound Coffee Roasters is a roastery in Northern California driven by a passion for craft and quality. The coffee itself is roasted in small batches on vintage equipment, with special attention paid to drawing out the best qualities of each single origin coffee or blend. Northbound needed a full identity and packaging system, including a logo, bag and label designs, and miscellaneous marketing materials like posters, in-store print materials, and stickers.

 

The design direction for Northbound Coffee Roasters emphasizes the craft and quality of the product. The design is informed by hand-done processes like silkscreen printing, letterpress, and block printing. The products made with these processes often have small editions and small differences that make them unique, in contrast to anything mass produced. This idea fit perfectly with Northbound’s philosophy and continues to drive their brand.
