Geniparana is the popular name of Gustavia augusta L.. It is a word from Tupi - Guarani.  Geni means Genipapo  and  rana means similar . It occurs in the Amazon region and the northeastern Brazilian coast. In the wetter regions reaches up to 10 feet tall and here in Rio de Janeiro under full sun , does not exceed 5 meters in height. The flowers are very fragrant with a delicate aroma and remarkable . It smells like wild flower , not domesticated.
