Asleep Awake is a visual exploration of the human subconscious – dreams. The book is a visual interpretation of 8 dreams that were chosen amongst other 74 stories collected as part of research material for my final project at university. All of the written content was gathered over the course of three months and involved participants from different nationalities, age groups and occupations.
The research material was translated into graphic outputs that accompanied dream extracts capturing the described moods, feelings and experiences. The project sought to analyse and better understand how one’s dreams originate from the daily events and reflect emotional state of mind.
The book was displayed as centrepiece of an immersive installation accompanied by an atmospheric soundtrack designed by Pablo Serrano (PBRS).
