The mud people

A day at the biggest free "spa resort" in Bulgaria. Situated next to a salt production plant near the sea capital of Bourgas, the mud basins gather thousands of locals and tourists who believe in its natural healing capabilities. People are using the mud's healing properties for many kinds of skin diseases, arthritis and gynecological problems. The mud is rich in calcium, iodine and phosphorus. A mud bath should last not more than 20 minutes. After that period the bathers clean themselves at the nearby beach of Black Sea.
