While working on this project I changed direction about half way through. I saw a pattern that looked like thread and wanted to explore that a bit more. I started changing my pattern overlays until I found one that had a leather look to it. i changed the color to red and made the top texture for the background of this project. I used the original stitch pattern for the underside of the background. I also added a reverse gradient over the top background layer to get the lighting effect right.
Next I created a rounded rectangle and added a drop shadow, gradient overlay, Inner Bevel, and pattern overlay. I used another fabric looking texture but I couldn't get the exact look I wanted until I added a texture element under Bevel and Emboss. Adding the two textures together I was able to create this thick canvas looking material.
Finally I started working on the word. Threads seemed like the right choice considering the entire project turned into a search for thread and material looking textures. I started with a pattern overlay that looked like rough stitching, I then added the Bevel&Emboss (which was my favorite part). I used  a Pillow Emboss with a chisel soft technique. I thought this technique made the letters look like they were patches that had been sewn on. I also added a Satin effect, Color overlay, and drop shadow.
And last I added a couple flares to the lighting.
