In this project I highlighted the personal journey I’m on in life, each poster represents a message I would like to remember as well as share with my generation. To bring awareness to the reggae culture in Jamaica, highlighting its positive conscious messages, by producing works to spark interest in the minds of the viewers.

The hall like presents of the room works well with my concept of becoming closer with one’s inner self, inner consciousness, and the inner intelligences we all have. The room has a path like essence that represents the close relationship I am building with myself and also wish to evoke the same feeling within the viewer. I see the elongated rectangular room as a means of voyaging into the self, the viewer enters the room and will have to proceed deeper inside to see all the works that will be mounted on the walls, mimicking the inner journey that I have started through the expression of these posters. What happens before the viewer enters the room is also important; the transition from a stony pathway into the smooth surface of the room represents the shift in consciousness that has to take place when one starts on the journey to self discovery. Some sort of change has to occur for us as humans to take notice of things happening in our life which ties into my overall concept.
On the walls of the room itself  created a texture by using caulking on ply board then paint over the texture the puff paint created on the ply, this makes reference to the journal like aesthetic I want the room to portray as well. The texture is like words written in a journal. These sections of the space should be very subtle and not overpowering the posters already mounted on the walls, hence the reason I will plan to paint over the ply after applying the puff paint.  After all the required elements come together in this space I think my concept and visuals work hand in hand.
My group of work consists of typographic posters used as tools of personal exploration. Words are very important tools and I strive to bring change and transformation in the lives of my audience. The posters are supposed to evoke thought and inner realization of who you think you are versus who you are.  My technique can be defined as experimental typography, I use physical object to form the words for the posters, creating a connection before the words and the environment that is lives in. After coming up with a concept for a poster I then source the required material, prepare the environment then I photograph the results.
