The ruins of the Roman Bathonea city are very close and even at sight from the building itself. That first capital of the Mediterranean was the very beginning of the relationship of mankind with the Mediterranean sea. An impressive city that went into oblivion due to a major earthquake around the 11th Century and yet to be recognised and credited to what it was.

The mural is the celebration of the wonders of sea and land with humankind, that understood the best spot to settle was right there. The city map was depicted as found in ancient documents is accompained with some ancient characters most probably used by the inhabitants of the first big capital of our sea.

My humble tribute to such milestone in history was to emphasize where we are coming from as a way to understand who we are. A fight against the oblivion it's suffering even nowadays empowered by its renowned lighthouse.
