Nirvana Movie Theater
"Nirvana" (Greek: Νιρβάνα), is one of the oldest cinemas placed in Athens, Greece.
Built in 1937 as an open-air cinema, "Nirvana" is known for screening greek, european
and american quality films. Since 1964 to this day, it works as an indoor cinema with 800 seats.
The Project
The Fall of 2014 marked the 50th anniversary of "Nirvana" as an indoor cinema.
Celebrating the event, the owners wanted to renew the interior of the cinema.
Therefore, I was gladly assigned to create illustrations for the wall panels inside the movie theater.
Thinking of something quite fresh and timeless, that at the same time blends with the cinema's environment,
I desided to create typographic portraits of six beloved classic Hollywood actors.
Needless to say, I feel very fortunate to have been given this rare opportunity.
