The exciting world of construction isn't always so exciting from a copy or graphic design perspective. My cubemate and I decided to make things a bit more interesting by creating a Welcome Packet that would be waiting for employees when the firm moved into its new office. The office move saw Balfour Beatty Construction and the newly acquired RT Dooley Construction moving together under the same roof for the first time. Since both firms were moving to a new neighborhood and employees would themselves have new neighbors within the office, we decided to create a packet and all around office experience that had a fun neighborhood feel.
We created a booklet that detailed all the cool restaurants, fun shops and things to do in the neighborhood and paired it with a faux newspaper that was designed to make people laugh and take a bit of stress out of the move. Around the office we hung faux fliers and advertisements that encouraged people to take advantage of all the new businesses that we now in their neck of the woods. To top it off, we created a map of the office, because new office location or not, some people just need to know where the bathroom is.
In other news, I provided a little graphic design help, designing the fliers and the newspaper with my mad CS5 skills.
