Video for Lee Dejasu's Fall 2014 Spatial Dynamics class. The assignment was to make a hat, shoes, gloves, and a brooch then to integrate these into a performance.

 

This project is an attempt for me to come to terms with growing up as a girl in today's world. I explored ideas of material culture through clothing as suffocation and costume, makeup as paint to hide what is underneath, and the parallels between little girls dressing up and adult woman getting married.
