ARCHITECTURAL PERMUTATIONS (analogue machines)

I. SMALL PUBLIC SPACE WITH GLASS COMPETITION
Central Glass International Architectural Design Competition, 2000

3. E X P L O D E D  P A N E L S / F R O G - S K I N (A X O N O)

A network of public spaces adapted to fulfill a selection of variable needs in our common and daily lives. All the prototypes were designed using the same pieces: digitized leftovers and recycled construction materials (glass, foam-boards and pieces of 3d-forming), obtaining a set of different ‘tri-dimensional irregular panels’, which were superimposed one another until achieving structural stability and irregular shapes (for generic spaces). Each model equals a shake and its static result "a permutation" per se.

II. THE TUMBLEWEED SPACE
                                          Virtual Design Competition, 2000

“A tumbleweed is a structural part of the above-ground anatomy of any of a number of species of plants, a diaspore that, once it is mature and dry, detaches from its root or stem, and tumbles away in the wind. “ - http://en.wikipedia.org

A rotating structure that moves along a surface and creates 'multiple forms' with each permutation it makes. Similar to a tumbleweed in the desert. Every time the tumbleweed-model moves and/or rotates in its axis, it produces a new space and it readjusts to its own structure (stable-shape), until the next shift is produced. A design working with its own gravity.
