I was given the task to create a ‘long list poster’ which needed to have 40 organized items. This poster needed to be both visually interesting enough to stop people on the street, as well as have the information easy and quick to interpret.

As a passionate outdoor lover and a local to Idaho, I chose the theme of my poster to be outdoor hikes available near southern Idaho. I researched long list posters and made many sketches of how to organize large amount of information. After creating a few sketches, I gathered the correct information on the hikes and their locations to see how the content fit. I also arranged the hikes in different categories until I found groupings that would where most helpful for the viewer. From there I began to apply typography hierarchies, style, and color for best visibility and target audience appeal. 

This project was one of my all time favorites. I was able to work with visual and typographic design, and also discover a number of hikes that I still need to explore.
