General Electric | Industrial Landscape - Interactive

General Electric | Industrial Internet of Things
Interactive Exhibit

General Electric needed an interactive installation to showcase their product offerings for what they call the ‘Industrial Internet of Things’.
I was asked to create a series of visuals that will help deliver key information about the GE technologies involved in the railroad industry. Because we didn’t had access to some of the specific facilities, some of the visuals had to be generated combining elements from many different photos.

The Creative Process
The main visual that would bring the entire experience together was the bird-eye view of the industrial landscape, a fictional compact version of railway facilities, container ports and cargo fleets that would normally be spread over large distances.

In order to use the visuals within the interactive application, required to create very light size files and bring them to life using loop-able animations. The animated visuals were created starting by combining elements from real photographs and generated photo-realistic 3D models.

The Process of Making

The photo-realistic landscape was created using a mix of generated 3D models of the railroad facilities, photos and manually painting many of the details.
Deconstruction by layers of the post-processing workflow used to generate the visuals.
