Thundering Sky is an acrylic on cotton duck canvas painting, 36h x 36w and 1.5d gallery wrapped canvas.
The sides of the piece are painted to match the image, framing is not needed.
The painting depicts a squall line coming inland over the lake onto the shore,
where the tops of the clouds still capture the light of blue and sun-filled skies while
the dark underside denotes the inevitable change in weather, and thereby, the beauty
of a gently rolling thunderstorm moving inland.
The grasses and path are meant to pull the viewer into the surrounding scenery as the tall
grass mimics the billowing winds and the waves upon the water begin to show themselves as the storm rolls in.
The piece is signed on the lower right "Swink."
