AFS | T-shirt Visual
AFS is an association wich promotes the international exchanges for students. To work and study in different countries. The Brussels & Walloon Brabant committee of AFS asked me to create a specific visual for their sweaters. The only requirement was to use elements Belgium is known for in the visual like belgian fries, chocolate and beer. But not only these were enough in my opinion. So I decided to add a cultural dimension Belgium is known for too: comics and paiting artists !
The reference to paiting artists stands with the "Ceci n'est pas la Belgique" and is of course a wink to Magritte's famous "Ceci n'est pas une pipe". I drawn the different elements and reworked it a bit in Illustrator to keep an "illustration" aspect in reference to comics. I add a reference to a national monument too: the Manneken Pis. Wich silhouette is made by all the other elements.
The fonts used were chosen for their "comics" look.
