The Cooking Circle

People have always been in a relationship with food. Everyone has his own unique taste, and his own secret recipe. But not everyone knows how to cook or have time for it. The cooking process is complicated to many people, specially the ones who have a busy life working, studying, or even living by their own. Some might need to get motivated to cook and experience, instead of just going to the easy solution, which is fast food. In The Cooking Circle, we guarantee people a unique cooking experience through social interaction inside the kitchen. The goal behind it is combining the social interaction time in the cooking and eating so people won’t need to skip something for something.

We are four girls, two product designers, one media designer, and I am a graphic designer. We worked together in developing an idea to motivate people to go back to cooking, and enjoy a good quality meal. Simplifying the cooking process was idea behind The Cooking Circle, to make the process more interesting, easier and enjoyable to the people. The Cooking Circle is a combination between kitchens, restaurant and a supermarket were people go there choose their ingredients, cook together with friends or strangers, interact together through the cooking process, and eat an enjoyable meal. In the cooking circle we provide experience that traditional kitchen facilities often ignore, and that is through social space filled with the needed utensils and equipment’s, ingredients, drinks, cleaning service, and guides through out the process. The aim of the place is to learn, achieve, socialise, interact, and experience. Apart from designing the service itself with the team, my role as a graphic designer is to develop an identity and a mood the suit the place, and make sure that all designers team follow the same identity in their designs.
