To keep my web design skills sharp and to try out new ideas I started doing monthly DIY projects. The project has 2 criteria. First it had to be a brand or product that I am interested in or an industry I would like to do work for. Second the subject could use some user-experience or design improvements. The first one is for Cane Creek Bicycles. They make high-end components for road, cyclocross, and mountain bikes.
The first step was to redesign the homepages user-experience. Before I could do that, I did an audit of the global navigation and the features of the homepage. I then reorganized the content to fit in a scrollable HTML5 space. I also added space for more user engagement on the homepage through a multiple video player.
