'A Faceless Crowd'

I avoided doing street photography for quite some time, rather I avoided photographing people completely , I don't really know why though.I much prefered the natural landscapes devoid of any human activity. But  when I shot a roll of film for the first time recently, I changed my mind and finally  decided to give it a shot and I'm sharing my first few shots.

These photos are a part of a series (more like my street photography philosophy as of now )I'm working on called 'A Faceless Crowd'. I will keep adding more photos as I take them.I found that most street work focuses on people and their faces, which is great as it connects us directly with the subject at an emotional level.

I wanted to do something slightly different, something  more broader than that, yet intimate in its own way.The aim with these photos is to connect you with the environment and situation that the subject is in on a much more maco (non photographic sense) scale . Portraying how various things around them intereact with each other and with you as a viewer.I wanted to create a deeper empathetic and emotional connect with the person as a whole rather than just the emotions that you see on their faces. Its a bit complicated to explain, but I hope  my  photos are able to show that in a much better way than my words.

Let me know what you think.

Evening walk on  a rainy day.
Things on my mind.
We all have our burdens to bear.
Iron throne.
Between two worlds.
Walk with me.
Walking alone
On top of the world.
In a world of our own.
At the end of the day.
In the shadows.
Festivities are around the corner.
Afternoon siesta.
Don't turn around.
