- Pre-event creative project
 
 

The Project guide
 
1. Choose 5 numbers, from 1 to 50. Add 0 as a mandatory choice. (i.e. 4, 12, 19, 29, 48, 0)  
 
2. Open up Template_bpr.ai and delete the layer named “delete me”
 
3. Use the the chosen procedures on the template (if you need to, install the font files)
 
4. Copy and paste the text of the selected procedures associated with your chosen numbers onto your artboard. (i.e. “4. Replace one cut of the typeface with another. Add a background color to the canvas.
        12. Mix up the layout. Rearrange all the elements as you see fit.
        19. Replace 10 letters with letters from different typefaces. Resize and position them at will.
        29. Change the blending mode of 3 elements (i.e. lighten or multiply)
        48. Do any 3 things you can think of.”)

5. Save as .ai and .pdf (fonts in curves and embedded images).

The Procedures (Choose 5 + 0)
 
0. Change the size of your 5 procedures to 8 pt, position and treat at will on the canvas. (check examples).
1. Change dash weights at will.
2. Replace one color with another.
3. Change the typeface of one element (i.e. the headline)
4. Replace one cut of the typeface with another. Add a background color to the canvas.
5. Rotate 1-3 elements 45 degrees.
6. Add a photo. (you can crop it and treat it any way you wish)
7. Add an illustration (you can crop it, treat it and position it any way you wish)
8. Change dash length at will.
9. Change spacing of any typographic elements you wish.
10. Redesign the headline.
11. Add a color and treat any elements you wish with it, you can also change opacity and blending modes.
12. Mix up the layout. Rearrange all the elements as you see fit.
13. Add 3 photos. All of them have to be b/w or toned into the same color.
14. Add 3 circles. You may color them and blend them as you wish.
15. Choose 2 elements. Cut and crop them up as you wish.
16. Rotate 2-5 elements 30 degrees.
17. Add a photo by cropping it into a triangle connecting 3 corners of the canvas.
18. Change kerning at will. Add a background color to the canvas.
19. Replace 10 letters with letters from different typefaces. Resize and position them at will.
20. Add 2 geometric shapes. Cut and position them at will. They must be yellow.
21. Add 3 colors. They must all be strongly saturated. Recolor any elements you wish with them.
22. Choose a typographic element (i.e. subhead) and replace it with a handmade version. You may sketch, scan or photograph it.
23. Add a geometric shape with a surface roughly half the size of the canvas. Cut it into 3 parts. Rearrange the parts. Color and blend it at will.
24. Add a texture. You may use it as a background or as a clipping mask for other elements.
25. Import into Photoshop and change the hue of the whole composition.
26. Add an illustration and a photo. They have to interact in some way.
27. Remove a piece of the template. The content still has to be readable.
28. Change the opacity of any number of items.
29. Change the blending mode of 3 elements (i.e. lighten or multiply)
30. Add a 3d geometric form. Render it in any way you wish.
31. Add the letter B or R. Make it huge. Position it any way you wish but color it red(ish). It may bleed out of the canvas.
32. Add a photo or illustration of either Zagreb or the Student Center. Invert it. Position and crop it as you wish.
33. Invert 2-3 elements’ colors. You may choose the background color as one.
34. Make 1-2 elements bleed out of the canvas. You may resize them for this purpose.
35. Align everything right instead of left OR change the background color to a warm color.
36. Cut up the typographic elements any way you wish and move them around by very small margins.
37. Add 1-4 arrows. Treat them as you wish but each one has to either come from outside the canvas or leave it.
38. Make 1-2 numbers stand out. Use size, typeface choice and positioning. Do not recolor.
39. Replace the text Zagreb with a photo or illustration. Make it obvious. Make it a cliche.
40. Duplicate the headline, flip it vertically and position at will.
41. Add a square, a triagle and a five-pointed star. Choose one of the elements and make 5 copies. Change their color and position at will.
42. Add 9 more dashes that are copies of ones existing.
43. Add the lyrics to your favorite song. Make them Comic Sans or Times New Roman. Make them pink.
44. Add a photo of yourself. It must be hidden from plain sight. Do it any way you wish.
45. Redo any of your previous procedures. This time do the opposite.
46. Add a photo of Josip Broz Tito and a random ethnic hat. Recolor the hat neon green.
47. Rearrange the headline so the letters are divided into a mosaic all over the canvas. You may make them larger. You may change the color.
48. Do any 3 things you can think of.
49. Scan or photograph something from you trash-can, add it to the canvas.
50. Add 3 symbols of love to the canvas. Cut 2 of them up as you wish. Make the third very small.
