AR Purpose:
Develop 1-2 paragraphs outlining the purpose behind the AR project.  What is the "Big Idea?"
The purpose would be to inform students and staff about this student group and what they do. It will include their social media sites as well as information about the new transgender washrooms. The main idea of the dis for dat is to support the LGBT community. The purpose of the app is to keep people updated and aware of the group and what they are planning/doing.

Competitor AR and Features:
   1. Research the Augmented Reality on the web to see if there are similar AR projects already created.
   2. Look for functions on existing AR projects which you like.  Record the AR project names, web URLs and a description of the function.  Take screenshots and provide annotations.

Reflection and Proposal:
Do you have a completely unique AR idea?  If so, move on to Activity 2.  If you do not, revise your approach to make it more specialized.

Part 2 - Proposal:

Students are to develop a proposal to their teacher.  The proposal must clearly speak about the following points:

AR Name:
Brainstorm Develop 5-10 different names for the AR.  This phase is not set in stone, it will continue to evolve.

LGBT
Gay Straight Alliance
Rainbow Flag
Change Is The Way

Facebook and Twitter feeds, video about group (voice overs by – Justin & Serena), link to their Hotmail, http://www.needsinc.ca/, brochure PDF, Q&A, Websites
Activity 2: Plan & User Cases

DIS for DAT is a Layar app that will promote the gay-straight alliance group in Sisler High School by informing people about the group and what it does, attract new members, and allow people who are LGBTQ to access resources to help them cope with what they are going through. Student/staff will see “Scan with Layar” beside the logo which will be in various spots throughout the school. They will scan the logo with the Layar app and the various features will show up on the screen. From there the student/staff will be able to see the Twitter and Facebook feeds from the group to see updates about what the group is currently doing and if they miss a meeting the can see what happened at the last one. Should they be LGBTQ or know someone who is there would be helpful links to support them. Or should they just be curious about what the group is there is a video for them to watch that will give more details about DIS for DAT.
Activity 3: Design, Flow & Interface
Possible Modificaions

Take out the video, can’t find one and not enough time to make one

AR Reflection - Amber
We did our project on the school group DIS for DAT on their request. However we had lots of toubles working with them as they never stayed on topic unless Stef was there. We also had the problem of for the things we suggested we do they didn't send us they information we needed to put on Layar until the day the project was due as they all either thought someone else was doing it or just forgot that they were working on this project. Other than these problems we encountred things went pretty well regarding the things me and Alex could do without them. I'm super happy about the logo design Alex came up with! The group originally wanted their logo to be the one we used until they found out it couldn't be rainbow. Overall I think the end product looks great! The group members of DIS for DAT who have seen it also agree (or so they say) and also the teacher in charge of the group.
AR REFLECTION - ALEX

Our layar app project is about a school group called DIS for DAT. The difficulty wiith the project was getting certain items for our project from the group, as in getting certain files that they wanted on their app. With a lack of communication, they were kind of hard to work with. Overall even with the lack of responsibility from the group, the DIS for DAT project was an intersting group to work on with the layar app.
