ABLE: A Book for the Disabled

ABLE
For the Physically Handicapped:
A History of Our Lady of Victory
Training Center in Davao
The "Able" book features photographs and stories of disabled people now able by the help of a non-government center.

The center, Our Lady of Victory Training Center in Davao, Philippines caters the handicapped by providing free surgical, medical assistance and physical therapy. They also teach them to be independent individuals by giving rehabilitation opportunities and education to prepare them in the outside world.

OLVTC is founded and headed by Sister Cecelia Wood, a Maryknoll nun. People would say she is a reincarnation of a saint for her deep passion in helping people in need.

I wanted to share this book for its touching stories.
Stories of helplessness, hope, and overcoming life's challenges. While doing this project, it opened my consciousness to help others and be more thankful of my blessings. I cant help but be inspired by these peoples' bravery. Bravery on overcoming physical disabilities; bravery on helping others and bravery on engaging other people to help.  I hope it will also trigger something in you.
