Stephen Franklin's profile

Vileda Product Photography Retouching

During a photo shoot for Vileda, the model's hands holding the cleaning products were too large for the gloves. Mark My Word's Creative Director sort Stephen's help to retouch the photography and briefed him on making the hand and forearm shapes appear slimmer and more suited to the gloves' size. Franklin removed any creases or blemishes on the gloves’ surface, applied the necessary image corrections, and reduced the model’s overall arm and hand profile. As a result, the glove in each retouched image was cleaner and more diminutive, making it less distracting and bringing the focus back onto the client’s products.

The completed retouched product image with exposure and colour corrections applied.
Build-up of the retouching showing the removal of surface creases and warping of glove profile.
A new forearm was added to this composition and the end of the glove was reconstructed by cloning similar nearby textures.
An additional image using the blue glove was required for the sponge product.
All surface discolouration was removed prior to adjusting the shape of the glove’s profile.
