Pinball Invaders
This is my contribution to an exhibition called 'The Science of Play' , which was part of the Design Manchester 2014 Festival. The exhibition brought together some of the best creative talent in Manchester to explore the meaning and importance of play.
This piece combines 2 classic games, 'Space Invaders' and 'Pinball', to create 'Pinball Invaders'. I've always been fascinated by pinball with its rich colourful artwork, flashing lights and frantic unpredictability, and 'Space Invaders' was one of the first electronic arcade games to have caught my imagination as a child. I spent a lot of time escaping into these worlds, and to me that is what 'Play' is all about.
The print is on sale at the their online shop, and all profits go the charity Play360, which designs and builds playgrounds in the developing world.
