Portraits (Digital Painting)

I haven't put anything up here in quite a while...
Despite that, I haven't been sitting still or anything like that. I've been doing quite a lot of research on colours, lighting and putting more emotion in faces aswell as many other things!
In order to do this, I've been looking at imagery that had the kind of atmosphere that I've been looking to put into my work.
Below I've put the (Digital Painted, with PhotoShop CS5) portraits of those images in which I feel that I've really managed to capture the right mood, etcetera :)

Small note, the following images are based of existing content. Characters etc. belong to their respective owners (History Channel and Bethesda Softworks)
"Fanart", as you've might have guessed.
This here lady is Katheryn Winnick, playing the part of Lagertha Lothbrok from the History Channel's serie; Vikings.
Reckon this one took me 10 hours or so before I was "satisfied" with it, or as close as it gets!

For this, and all the other paintings below goes:
I've taken a peek at the original image for 10 seconds per day, tops? Anyhow...
The idea was to not be influenced by the original image(s) too much!
Yeah, this one took me a real long time... I think it's real close or over 20 hours. I wanted to do everything perfect, prefferably photorealistic if I could!

While I'm glad with how this one turned out, it took way too much time, I've picked up pace since this one though so that's good. I've learnt the most from painting this one so woohoo!
Oh yeah, this one's also from Vikings! Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel).
Another character (and the last, for now) from the Vikings serie (yes, I like it!) this is Floki, normally known as Gustaf Skarsgård.
I was getting carried away on the clothing and noticed it when I looked at it the next day, so I decided to put a full-stop to that and try leave the rest a bit more blurred, so that it wouldn't distract from the face.

Spent about 12 hours on this one, the eyes were horrible to do...
Those of the viewers who've played skyrim will be familiar with this guy and him sending you airborne.
I noticed the amazing detail on this one while actually looking for refference for another project of mine..
.
For the 'Giant' as a model, rights belong to Bethesda Softwork.
Time spent, about 4-5 hours?
Last one in this "project" of mine.
It's a close-up on the "badassery" that is the Dragonbone Helm. I like how crude it is and the metal plus suitable lighting made up for great excercise! Ehm, I'm still not completely satisfied with this one... I feel as though I should maybe tilt the head a bit so that both pupils are visible. Figured it was fine like this though!
This one's (obviously?) also based of Bethesda Softwork's: The Elder Scroll V - Skyrim.
I've spent 5 hous and a bit on this one, getting the lighting right and playing around with HIS left eye took the majority of this time.
Note: If you see anything odd, when comparing it to the rest... That's because of the size.
I made this one 1920×1080px so that I could properly use it as a Desktop Background, the others are A4 (I should've made them bigger, I know...)

And that's it!
