IOLA. Russian jewellery brand

Iola is a concept of jewellery brand style-based on a traditional Russian craftworks. It includes metal jewelry, embroidery and wooden ornaments.
The idea was to explore the guidelines of traditional craftworks and renovate it to a modern shape. Russian jewels historically based on a primal artworks with a mix of orthodox church patterns which comes to Russia in an early 10th century. The main task was to expose the principles and construction of traditional jewellery desigh.
After weeks of researching the first sketches were made. It was interesting to find out that 30 percents of a number of all the shapes i explored were fits to a golden ratio grid. It means that proportions between different parts of jewels was simply reduced to a 0.618. Of course, it was made with a small assumption, but whatever. The next step was to transform blueprints to a solid layout.
It was complicated to choose a few shapes from hundreds and to begin modeling and rendering, but as a result i have got a thousand of pictures which were sorted and then part of them ruthlessly deleted. I also tried to imagine how`s the branding could look like. Here is logo mockup.
I have a tons of vector graphics, which were spreaded into a big catalogue that shows an examples of ancient jewellery things. Each one was sorted and set to grid.

At last, all the renders were finished and the next step was to collect it together. Here is a few covers from a big guidebook.
