Photographs capture moments and hold memories. It is through these memories and experiences that we identify and define ourselves. However, A single photograph that is of a passport size is also said to define our identity. What does it mean to possess such a photograph? Does this shape the existence of our identity or is there more to it than just a blank gaze at the camera?
I have collected passport-sized photographs of my friends, family and acquaintances over the years. By placing these passport-sized photographs over photographs of the same persons, I am trying to create a new association to an identity.
