Andrea Haid Resume

My objectives are to continually improve as an artist and to storyboard or animate with a collaborative and creative team of artists who share the goal to bring compelling and entertaining stories and characters to life.
I've been working in the animation industry since graduating from the classical animation program at Sheridan College in 2005. Most of my work has been as an animator, sometimes as a key animation pose artist, which I consider to be an asset to a story artist. I know the value of communication and collaboration within a studio, what animators and the other departments need from a storyboard, and I know the importance of both meeting a deadline and pleasing a client. I'm very comfortable working digitally with a tablet or cintiq (as well as pencil on paper). I love to draw! My drawing and observationskills are strong.

The project I most recently storyboarded was a 3 minute short film that I wrote and am directing called Pickled. The other project I recently completed is not official, but one that I drew to the “script” that took place between the Spongebob Squarepants cast over Twitterbefore Nickelodeon aired a TV special. This is something I thought would be a unique property to storyboard and did this on my own.

I have lots of posing and animation experience in Flash and Toomboom Harmony. I have taught myself how to use Toonboom Storyboard. I am also very comfortable animating with pencil and paper. I am animating my independent short film with hand drawn animation. I love the search for key golden poses and creating interesting and appealing inbetweens and breakdown drawings. For me, the craft of hand drawn animation is fascinating and enjoyable. It certainly feeds the digital animation work that I do as well.
