This was my first attempt at creating any sort of costume - ever, especially an event-specific one. I decided to go with Arctic Ops Varus because I really like the champ and skin, plus I didn't see too many attempts at it floating around on the interwebs yet. This was quite the undertaking considering I was crazy to give myself a little under a month to complete the project (started brainstorming right after purchasing my tickets haha).
Unfortunately I missed the cosplay showcase at the start of the event because I was still holed up doing final touches on the costume before sitting in traffic at 3:45pm (!?)...but I've always had the mindset of "if you're going to commit to do something, do it to completion and do it well," so why not debut my work among a crowd of 40,000 people? The sleepless night before the event and tireless, frustrating detail work (and material adaptations) were very much worth the overall investment and experience.
Thanks for reading/looking! Enjoy!
The only full-length shot of my costume at the event (before I lost one knee pad and took off the other). Below are progressive shots taken of the mask over the course of about two weeks. I'm sad to say I didn't take any pics of the progress for the bow and other accessories since they were all put together after arriving in Korea - finalized pretty much the day before and morning of the event.
