I started by making the 3D model of the overall body that was later machined in a CNC mill.

Joining the front and back. 

These were laser cut from acrylic. 

After serveral layers of paint and a glossy finish, it sort of looks like plastic.
Feels great when people can't believe it's actually made of wood.
