My Intro to Ceramics final from winter quarter 2014. "Spring Cleaning" is a piece that depicts the person as a home for the soul, and like all homes, a person can become congested with dust and trash, the old and obsolete, the toxic and onerous. This piece is supposed to illustrate a kind of catharsis. The structure is red clay with underglaze and glaze with felted wool flowers, wire and felted wool figure (holding felted feather duster), chiffon curtain, and balsa and plastic window.
