inksie.com

Over months of planning and research, Inksie was conceptualized as a community-driven marketplace based on apparel, prints and music. Select visual artists and designers were invited to contribute work to be sold in the Inksie online shop; a voting system and custom social networking were devised to build camaraderie; the Journal of Design & Culture was developed as a source of educational content and creative inspiration. What evolved was a place where artists could make things and get paid, and a place where customers could find unique, fresh design.

The site was built on two bridged platforms: WordPress (with BuddyPress) and Magento Commerce, creating a seamless online experience.

Inksie is no longer around, but you can still check out the (mostly) intact site on the Wayback Machine.
