The assignment was to design an advertisement to encourage students between the ages of K-12 to wash their hands in the bathroom. 

This was the very first brainstorming process - our team tried to come up with things that would be particularly receptive to young children. Out of the ideas that we wrote down, I chose the "cute animals" as a main direction for my design.  

Once I decided to go "cute", I tried to think of things that I have seen before that struck me as being memorably cute. I instantly thought of the Puss in Boots from Shrek, and this is where I got my main inspiration for the big eyes and position of the paws that I incorporated into my own design.

I decided to do some research in "cute" animal characters out in the market that appeals to young children and found Littlest Pet Shop. These characters provided me with the basic template in creating the glistening eyes central to the character in the final poster.
